“Though she be but little, she is fierced.”- Shakespeare
First, I’d like to apologize that I haven’t been around to update you about my workout progress. But rest assured that I have kept up with it along with the mini fitness challenges I have taken up as well. Life got a little hectic. One missed post, turned into two, and then three, until I’ve completely just let it go, promising myself to give you a quick summary about my 6th week on my final post for 6 Weeks to Shred.
Last post, I wrote about the results I got from doing a 2 day cleanse following Dr. Oz 48-hour weekend cleanse. And like I said before, it always work whenever I need help with redirecting to a healthier eating habit. I highly recommend it!
Since then, I have been following the eating guidelines from Dr. Oz 28 days Shrink your Stomach Challenge. Not strictly but mostly (grins). I have tried most of the recipes suggested, especially the avocado breakfast. I love the avocado breakfast! While keeping in mind what kind and how big of a portion I should be eating for dinners. So far it’s been going great!
Following Dr. OZ 28-Day Shrink your Stomach challenge isn’t that hard at all. It focuses on eating lots of fruits and veggies, which I like anyway, and consuming the right kind of fats and being mindful of portion, which is very important. While eliminating certain foods that can make you bloat and retain fat such as dairy, sugar, alcohol, packaged and processed foods, soda, artificial sweeteners. The program also encourages fasting for 12 hours during the night. It simply means that you stop eating around a certain time at night, say 9 pm to 9 am, to help your body processed the foods you consumed for the day. That’s it!
As I write this, I can hardly believe it myself that six weeks came and went in what seemed like a blink of an eye.
But here I am, in front of all of you feeling very excited and proud of this accomplishment!
It truly had been a great journey and I owe it to all of you and to everyone around me who supported me along the way. I don’t think I could ever have achieved this success if it hadn’t been for your help. Those little words of encouragement, the thought of knowing someone is reading and following me along my journey. I’m sure there were times where I was more obnoxious than inspiring. But you stuck around and listened (read) to all my whines and moans anyway. And for that I am very grateful and of course apologetic! Lol!
Below, I showed you the weights I started with at the beginning of my 6 Weeks to Shred journey and the weights I finished up with on the final week. Keep in mind that before beginning this journey my body was weak and my workout was nonexistent. I have actually attempted the Rock Solid Kettlebell program twice before my 6 Weeks to Shred journey. The first time I couldn’t finish a whole routine from the program, put my back out on the process and had to wait a week to feel good enough to workout again. The second time I wasn’t motivated enough to keep going.
Until I started participating in Lauren Brooks’ fitness challenges.
My fitness journey began with a 10-15 minute single leg deadlift from Lauren Brooks’ fitness challenge. Then about 2 or 3 weeks in I started to feel the strength coming back to me. My confidence slowly increased with each small workout I did until I got motivated enough to finally tackle Rock Solid Kettlebell program for the 3rd time. But this time around, I had plan to secure my success by posting about it publicly. Best decision I made!
Moving on, I’m sure you are all excited to see my results after 6 weeks. Because, though I wrote my experiences on a day-to-day basis, I never really shown you any hint or visual images of how I was doing along the way. So don’t worry because down below (don’t rush! lol!), I have included my before and after pic. Yep! I am totally freaking out at the thought of that. But you deserved to see it because I owe it to you and it’ll serve as a reminder to me that hardwork really does pay off over time.
As you can see, I didn’t exactly arrived at the weight I wanted, not yet anyway! It was more likely because of my food choices in the first few weeks of the challenge. But this journey is far from being finished! It’s only the beginning. My real ending goal is to achieve a body like Lauren Brooks! 😉 (a girl can dream, right?) Anyway, I did lose 1.5 inches around my waist and burned fat all over (I think). I can tell from the way my clothes fit me anyway. So I am pretty happy with those results and looking forward to keep going!
And now for the finale… drum rolls please (okay, I’m really freaking out inside coz I have never done this ever!)
Before picture was taken on the night of the first day I started my journey.
The after picture was taken on the morning before my last workout on the 6th week that’s why I looked like I just woke up! Lol!
And sorry for the blurry picture. I used my phone instead of my camera.
And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed following along my 6 Weeks to Shred personal challenge.
I am so grateful that I took it and decided to write about it as well! Thank you for reading!
