I’m so glad you are here! Thank you!
As the title suggests, I am here today because I decided to chronicle my journey to shredding my body of all post baby fat in 6 weeks! I mean I could journal my progress in my own notebook hidden away somewhere. But I’m never really good at following through with that! Besides where’s the thrill in keeping it all to myself? I’d like to share my journey with all the moms out there who are interested to follow and maybe get inspired along the way and join me.
I know that by exposing myself out there, there’s a possibility of all these backfiring on me. But to be honest right now I just want to seize the moment and take action! Not worry how or who or what will happen. If you’re here reading this, then I thank you! I thank you for your support!
So the question is, Is it possible? Can it be done? Can I shred my body in 6 weeks, lean down and tone up the way I’ve always wanted?
All I can say to you is this favorite quote of mine, “If you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right. ~ Henry Ford”
I’m choosing, I CAN! What will you choose?
Here’s a little bit about me, my goals and my simple plan of attack.
I’m a stay-at-home mom to 3 (8,6,21 mos.). I am not really overweight but with my tiny frame and barely 4’11” height, 105 lbs looks like a lot!
Before kids, I have always been tiny and in decent shape so I never really find the need to do any sort of exercise. But after baby #1, I find it hard to just bounce back to my pre-baby weight and physique. Guess I’m not one of the fortunate ones with the great genes and all.
Back then I didn’t worry too much because I knew that we were going to have more babies and thought I could just begin working towards losing post baby weight when we’re done. BIG mistake! It became harder to lose the weight after baby #2. Then when I finally decided to start working out all my post baby weight after #2, baby #3 came into the picture. And that threw me all back into the loop.
But now, I believe the time has come. Yes I could have started sooner but really you’re never too late to start anything. And the most important thing here is that this time I am READY! Your mind has to go there first before your body can follow. And I feel that I am finally there!
- to lean down to a healthier and stronger 100 lbs weight
- to deadlift 100 lbs
- to swing double-handed our 70 lbs kettlebell (the heaviest in our collection)
- to gain high and consistent positive energy daily
I love kettlebells! Ever since I realized that weight lifting is not only for men anymore and that I can do it without getting bulky, I fell in love! Now, every time I buckle down to get fit I always go for strength training versus cardio. But that’s the beauty of kettlebells, using it combines both strength and cardio at the same time.
We do own barbells and squat rack because my hubby loves those, but I love kettlebells more! Though it was my hubby who introduced me to all these workout equipment, including kettlebells! Now, I’m forever grateful!
From what my hubby showed me and a little bit of googling, I learned a few moves using kettlebells. But I started with light 10 lbs up to 25 lbs as my heaviest on my own and never pushing myself harder. I thought that the strength would just naturally come in time, until I found Lauren Brooks from On the Edge fitness. Now working out with kettlebells is never the same. Now I see endless possibilities instead of limitations. I tried a couple of her follow along workouts but fell in love with her Be SLAM program. That’s where I realized the growth potential in my strength and not in the far distant either but sooner than you can imagine. I am hooked!
This time around though, I chose her Rock Solid program instead of re-doing Be SLAM. I still love that program but I feel the need for new workout challenges. That is why I also participated in her 28 day single leg deadlift challenge, which what fueled me to get started with my shredding journey. Awesome, right? At least that’s how I feel! =)
I wish right now that I can show you a laid out plan of my daily meals but as it happened I don’t have one at the moment. This idea of “shredding in 6 weeks” came to me in a flash. So I just have to jump into it before it gets away from me. But don’t worry, I do have basic guidelines that I will be following until I can put together a weekly meal plan.
So the eating plan is simple, I am planning to eat low carb, whole foods, and close to paleo diet (not strictly) as I can for 6 days of the week. So for me, that means, a lot of fruit, veggies and meat. I know that’s still pretty vague, and the room for temptations is also pretty big, but as long as I try to stay within those guidelines and get rid of temptations at home, then I should be fine (I hope). And then on Saturdays, I plan to splurge on whatever I feel like eating. =) I know that I can’t be too strict with my diet or I will revolt against the plan, so 70/30 is just about right for me.
I plan to journal my progress here because I can use all the help I can get. And by doing so, hopefully I can stick to this plan knowing that you will be here reading it.
Thank you for stopping by!
