Hi there! I’m so glad to have you back for part 2 of our Christmas Tot Trays!
A couple of days ago I shared with you part 1 of our Christmas Tot Trays set up for week 12 of our Tot School. If you missed that one, just head over here to view it.
Now I’m back to share part 2. This is actually our current set up for tot school this week. But I thought Christmas is almost here so it might be a good idea to get this out already for you all to see. In case you are planning to set up some fun activities for kids during Christmas and are looking for ideas to keep them busy while we prepare for the big dinner. We do need to keep our little ones entertained, right?! And what better way to do that than to have activities planned and set up for them to enjoy!
The Set Up
- Empty can with plastic lid + Christmas snowman straws
- Small gift bag + Christmas pinecones
- Candy cane tray + Christmas erasers
- Christmas round tin container + mini presents
Christmas Tot Tray 1: If you have an empty container of hot chocolate (that’s what I used here), cleaned it up the best you can; wrap the body with a wrapping paper; then drill holes on the lid (as many as you wish), big enough to easily fit a straw in it. Then add some fun straws and you’ve got yourself another fun activity for your tiny tot!
The idea is to push and pull the straws in each hole. But if your tot is still young like Little Lady O, you can just set the activity up so that the straws are already in the holes. Then tiny tots can come pull each individual straws out. Little Lady O actually tried to put the straw back in the hole and she did it successfully with one straw! So proud of her!
Christmas Tot Tray 2: This activity is as simple as a gift bag filled with Christmas pine cones for some sensory. Little Lady O looked at the pine cones, picked it up in her hands and even tried tasting it! But her favorite part of this activity, can you guess what? Yup, the gift bag!
Christmas Tot Tray 3: This is another sorting activity which is comprised of a cute candy cane tray and pieces of cute Christmas erasers. Little Lady O doesn’t sort by colors or kinds yet but she still enjoys putting the erasers on the tray and taking them out.
Christmas Tot Tray 4: This activity is another variation of in and out activity or sorting, counting and open and close. I just can’t resist those cute mini presents and the holiday tin container, both so cute!
Little Lady O hasn’t really played much with this, aside from opening and closing the container and opening one of the presents! Lol!
And this photo down here is Little Lady O’s own exploration. She loves mixing and matching her different activities. And I love watching her do that!
So there you have it, our version of Christmas Tot Trays that keep my kids entertained and learning during this holiday season!
