It’s that time of the year again!
There are graduation, awarding ceremonies, and celebration everywhere.
While a lot of homeschooling families are slowly working their way to wrap up for the year, some are already finished, and yet others will continue to learn through the summer months for a year-round of fun learning.
We here at home decided to finish up early this school year. To be honest this is probably the first year that we’ve taken a lot of unplanned breaks and then cutting our school year short. No, we didn’t finish everything we planned for the year but it’s something I’ve come to accept because sometimes life doesn’t always go the way we want it. And being a homeschooler means being flexible.
A lot has been going on around our lives at the moment (or so it seems to me) and as much as I want to keep going for my children education’s sakes, they are also my reason for not continuing to finish. I want them to get the most of our learning at home not “just get it done.” And because my focus lately has been lacking, it just wasn’t fair for them if I demand that they get their individual activities done. Instead I decided to focus on having fun with them, enjoy our summer months and pick back up when we’re ready to go at it again.
I like to mark the end of our homeschool year by holding a small awarding ceremony in our home plus a celebration to acknowledge our children’s efforts. We want them to realize that we appreciate them and that we are happy for them for all the things that they have learned throughout our homeschool year.
This year, my youngest son finished Kindergarten and so we celebrated his achievement with a presentation of a diploma complete with a graduation cap. Let me tell you how this little act of recognition made him feel so special, it truly melts my heart.
Then my 3rd grader got presented with a certificate of completion and last but not the least, our littlest learner got presented with her very own certificate for being such an awesome toddler student of the year (grins). It was a great day for all of us.
In the past, it used to be that I would surf the net for a free certificate to print for my kids or buy an end-of-the-year bundle printables. This year I created my own simple diploma/certificate plus a special certificate to also include our young toddler learner. My little girl was so happy to be a part of the celebration!
So, what’s all included in the mini pack?
- Kindergarten Diploma
- Certificate of Completion for any grade level
- A special certificate for toddlers
- Fun Homeschool Year-End Questionnaire
- Photo & Handprint Keepsake printable
I wanted to share these all to you so you can also celebrate your hardworking students for completing another fun year of learning and give them a memory to cherish for years to come. I hope that you enjoy it!
