Life goes on and so has my fitness routine!
Lately, even with the imbalance in our home due to my husband’s temporary crazy, busy schedule at work, there’s been this one consistent thing that keeps me anchored down and motivated, my fitness routine.
I have finished the initial challenge I took to take back control of my health and well-being, 6 Weeks to Shred, a few weeks back now. In the last post I wrote, I said that it wasn’t the end but only the beginning of my journey to getting back in shape. And it certainly is!
After 6 Weeks to Shred, I took a week off to give my body time to recover. And wow, it felt like the longest break I took from working out (lol)! Although, I continued on with Lauren Brooks fitness challenges during the whole break.
Now, I am 3 weeks into the new Kettlebell program I bought from On the Edge Fitness by Lauren Brooks called Ignite. This time this program focuses on fat loss and muscle endurance and I love it! I say it’s a perfect program moving on from Rock Solid Kettlebell program!
The whole program is only 4 weeks long which is perfect since I find that I’m able to keep my motivation level up with short duration programs. But ironically, I am enjoying Ignite so much that I plan to re-do the whole program again once I finish!
Here is a sneak peek of my workout session from Ignite. I was using 40 lbs for 1-arm swing and 25 lbs for the squat presses and I was more than halfway done here.
I also still participates in Lauren Brooks fitness challenges. This month’s (June) challenge is a Push, Pull, Swing challenge. I need to work on my push-ups, pull-ups (in my case chin-ups), but am able to swing a heavier bell so I stayed with those. You can certainly change it up a bit if you are more of an advance level to make it more challenging for you. Check out my video below!
Last but not the least, you might be wondering why I haven’t kept up with my workout journal (or not). But after last time, I am sorry to say this, it had become a bit daunting for myself as a part-time blogger.
Sure it was great the first time to keep myself accountable and to hopefully encourage other moms who are feeling down about themselves because of the changes in their body brought about by pregnancy. But now, I feel “high” constantly that I don’t think I will ever stop working out anymore (grins)! However in order for me to keep my motivation up, I know I needed to work on a bigger goal aside from getting fit and lean.
So, after talking to my husband and getting his support and encouragement, I have just stepped up my fitness challenge by going for my Kettlebell Instructor Certification!
Yup, I am registered to go in August! I am so excited and nervous at the same time!
But this is it! There is no turning back! I am going for it and I will give it my all! And whether I pass it or fail, I’m still going to be proud and happy about the incredible experience to be had.
